Reflections - Week 3

This week has been a great week learning about Drop-Shipping and Affiliate Marketing. I have found that I like the idea of Affiliate Marketing better, however, I think it will be a lot more work. I can make that work fun if I have a website that I am passionate about and enjoy posting things to it. I have seen blogs that have really taken off, but the owner of the blog has to keep it up-to-date and have posts that make people want to return often. In the case that we have been studying (guitars) this week, I don't think they could be successful with affiliate marketing. I don't know if they are really excited and passionate about guitars or not - if they are, then maybe it will work.

We also studied brokers, wholesalers and manufacturers. There is a lot out there and it will take lots of time to find the right wholesaler to use for my future business. I did find that Alibaba has items that I am thinking about selling on a website.

Lesson 8 - Ads and Ad Groups

This week we created an ad to use in Google Adwords. I was happy with the one I created. I feel that it grabs the attention of the reader and it also has a call to action. I am still working on the blurb link because it isn't working right. I still have a lot of images to add to the site as well as making it more attractive.

Lesson 9

This week has been difficult. We were to try and figure out our quality score. It took me forever to get to the screen that shows it. Once I figured it out, I was able to start the process. However, it didn't give me a quality score before the deadline. My suggestion for this online class would be to break this up into two weeks. Make sure the students set up their accounts a week before so the quality score will generate. We learned about google analytics. This will be a great tool for my business. I was able to set it up and can now tract the activity of the people who visit my site.

Week 13

Google Analytics My site is not doing very well. I have hardly any visitors (except for me). My adwords doesn't seem to be attracting anyone either. My next plan is to really target contacts and social media. I need to get in touch with former students and have them link to the site and also give me testimonials from the class they took and from the book. That will add a lot to my site. Woorank is an awesome tool. It has given me several ideas to improve my site. I have started making some of the improvements but it is going to take some time. I have lots of images that I need to add better descriptions on. Hopefully my score will increase.
